Both of these tools should be used on top of a hard surface and struck with a non-rubber mallet. For the Slabtown, an ⅛" drive punch is used to punch holes in both fabric and leather. Sharp punching tools should be used on top of a cutting board to avoid damaging your table or cutting mat.
