Tropical Shirt - 2 sessions
Wardrobe by Me's Tropicana or Tropical Button Up Shirt
It's time to get casual and stitch your own tropical shirt. Haven't made a button up shirt yet? Not ready for long sleeves with plackets and cuffs (it's okay, we can make those in the fall)? With side slits and the option to make a square or round collar we think this will be a go-to staple all summer long.
Set a sleeve and get some practice making buttonholes. Plus lengthen and/or shorten to FIT YOU! That's the point of sewing, isn't it? If the women's Tropicana doesn't toot your horn, we also love WBM's Camp shirt (available as a pdf).
Limited to 4 students (16 yrs of age or older); 2 students are required for class to meet. If a class is cancelled due to low enrollment, you will receive a full refund.
- Level: intermediate/advanced. You have successfully completed School of Sewing or have taken other garment construction classes.
- We provide: the expertise, tools, and machines.
- You bring: yourself, a copy of the pattern (available in-store or online) that you have traced (if you are grading between sizes please start with the larger measurement), fabric per the pattern, interfacing, buttons, and coordinating thread (if you care about topstitching - there is a lot of topstitching - bring thread that either compliments or disappears). Don't forget that we offer 15% off supplies purchased for class.
- Class length: 3ish hours each session (we've built in extra time should we need it to reach each session's goals)
